In the late 1990s, I’d accumulated several songs that I thought were unrelated, but upon review, seemed to spell out a story. Based on those songs, I wrote a novella about a melancholy poet who’s trying to find his way through the very unpoetic modern urban world. The novella inspired the idea for a gothic rock musical short film. The film never got made (although I still hope that it someday does) but I recorded the soundtrack for it. These are a couple of excerpts from that soundtrack.
